On Saturday, Raymond E. Duff, 52, died in a boating accident at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. The incident occurred at about 1:48 p.m.
He jumped off the boat he was riding in after pulling it up to the shore and was hit in the face by a boat wake for which he required emergency treatment. The lake area where he jumped had a water level of almost 3 to 4 feet, told the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water division.
A floatation device was given to Duff by 2 individuals present in the boat, 18-year-old Rachel T. Duff and 17-year-old Dylan J. Spence; they also collaborated to save him by jumping in the water.
Before taking him to the hospital, emergency personnel worked on him at the incident spot after which they took him for treatment but he was dead when they reached the hospital.
No individual riding in the boat was wearing a lifejacket but the other 2 didn’t sustain any injury.
This accident is not the 1st boating accident that occurred in this year as 3 other boating related incidents happened before it.
